Stitching together in Durham

Join us on the first and third Saturday of each month at St Margaret's Centre for relaxed sewing, quilting, and embroidery over tea.

What we make

Three regular textile pursuits

Bring whatever work you have on the go. Our tables accommodate everything from intricate needlepoint to expansive pieced blankets.

Patchwork & quilting

Hand embroidery

Mending & alterations

From precision block cutting to hand-basting quilt sandwiches, spread your layers across wide communal tables with plenty of rotary cutters and iron stations.

Practice counted cross stitch, crewel wools, or freeform surface stitches in supportive company ready to untangle knots and share traditional patterns.

Repair worn knitwear, hem trousers, and breathe new life into vintage linens with visible darning and practical advice from experienced makers.

All makers welcome

No auditions, no skill checks—just pull up a chair

Whether your project has rested in a tote bag for three years or you picked up your first needle this morning, there is always room beside us.
